NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING AND BOARD MEETING

HUNTINGTON FIRE DISTRICT

ANNUAL BUDGET FOR 2012

WHEREAS, ON THE 13^th day of September 2011, pursuant to Section 105 of the Town Law and Section 181 of the Town Law, the Board of Fire Commissioners of the Huntington Fire District confirmed that the Annual Fire District Budget Hearing will be conducted with reference to the Annual Fire District Budget for fiscal year 2012 on Tuesday, October 18, 2011 commencing at 8 p.m. at the Fire District Building located at 1 Leverich Place, Huntington, NY, and

WHEREAS, the Board of Fire Commissioners is required to adopt a proposed budget at least 21 days before October 18, 2011 so that it is available for public inspection prior to the budget hearing.

NOW, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Fire Commissioners of the Huntington Fire District has adopted a proposed Annual Fire District Budget for 2012 as of the 29^th day of August 2011 for purposes of discussion and review at the Budget Hearing to be held on October 18, 2011 and a copy of the proposed budget is available at the office of the Town Clerk of the Town of Huntington and at the office of the Huntington Fire District Secretary at 1 Leverich Place, Huntington, NY where it may be inspected by any interested person during office hours.  In addition, copies of the proposed budget will be available on the night of the said hearing.

NOW, therefore, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of Fire Commissioners of the Huntington Fire District has adopted a proposed Annual Fire District Budget for 2012 which contemplates an increase in the annual budget which exceeds the statutory real property tax cap set by Section 3-c of the General Municipal Law.  At the Budget Hearing the Board of Fire Commissioners will consider a resolution to approve exceeding the cap in accordance with the statutory process due to mandated costs imposed by the State and improvements required for its 52 year old building before it considers approval of the final budget.

NOW, therefore, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of Fire Commissioners of the Huntington Fire District will hold the Annual Fire District Budget Hearing to be conducted with reference to the Annual Fire District Budget for fiscal year 2012 on Tuesday, October 18, 2011 commencing at 8 p.m. at the Fire Headquarters Building located at 1 Leverich Place, Huntington, NY.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the aforesaid budget will be presented to the residents and taxpayers of the Huntington Fire District and to the Board of Fire Commissioners of the Huntington Fire District, for their respective consideration at this public hearing and for the purpose of considering the said budget and hearing all persons interested in the subject concerning same on Tuesday, October 18, 2011 commencing at 8 p.m. at the Fire Headquarters Building located at 1 Leverich Place, Huntington, NY.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Board of Fire Commissioners of the Huntington Fire District will conduct a Board Meeting immediately following the completion of the Budget Hearing at premises 1 Leverich Place, Huntington, NY.  At said meeting the Board may consider approval of any resolutions related to the budget and approval of the budget as well as any other regular business the Board determines to consider.
