Huntington, NY - Councilwoman Susan A. Berland was on hand at Huntington Intermediate School to install the school's newly elected student government leaders Monday afternoon.  Councilwoman Berland read each student an oath and gave each student an official certificate from the Town of Huntington.

"I commend Huntington Intermediate School for encouraging their students to participate in government," commented Councilwoman Berland.  "The importance of voting and getting involved in your local government cannot be underestimated and it's great that this school is giving their students a head start.  Congratulations to all the newly elected officials at Huntington Intermediate!"

The Huntington Intermediate Husky Student Leadership Officers for the 2007-2008 school year are as follows: Alex Castillo - President, Sam Latt - 4th grade Vice President, Lana Ziegler - 5th grade Vice President, Keven Pimentel - 6th grade Vice President, Lacey Schedler - Secretary and Justin LoTurco - Treasurer.
