Huntington, NY- Councilman Stuart Besen along with his fellow Town Board Members, Councilwoman Susan Berland and Councilwoman Glenda Jackson, were among the invited guests to the ribbon cutting ceremony of the new Solar Center located at 1786 East Jericho Turnpike.  With the rising prices and the uncertain availability of fossil fuels, harvesting the sun's energy directly provides an economical and clean alternative source of electricity.  Solar electric systems produce electricity everyday helping combat Global Warming by reducing power plant pollution.  The Solar Center will be happy to discuss the design and installation process of solar energy systems for both residential and commercial applications.

The Town of Huntington, in an effort to help encourage this green energy technology passed legislation on May 22nd of this year, initiated by Councilman Stuart Besen to provide Town residents with a Solar Energy "fast-track" treatment from the Department of Engineering Services.  This policy is designed to expedite the application and building permit process while also waving all fees for solar panel installations.
