MISSION:
As established by Local Law No. 11-2006, the Department of Information Technology was established to better serve the needs of the Town in all areas of technology related to the administration, management and maintenance of all computer and communications hardware and software used to automate and augment all clerical, administrative and management tasks of the Town of Huntington.
The Department of Information Technology will work to simplify access to information, reduce communication costs and provide access to multiple computer systems for all Town departments and their divisions.

OPERATING ENVIRONMENT:
The Department of Information Technology is responsible for the administration, management and operation of all Town internet, intranet and network based resources. This includes supporting all hardware, software and other devices, which integrate data, equipment, personnel and problem solving methods in planning and controlling technology activities. Information Technology provides the means of collecting, storing, processing, analyzing, transmitting, receiving and printing text, audio or video information.
