Frequently Asked Questions from Veterans:

Are there any monuments dedicated to veterans in the Town of Huntington?

In 1995 the Town of Huntington created "Huntington Veterans Plaza" on the front lawn of Town Hall.  To date we have monuments dedicated to World War II, Korean, Vietnam, Women in the Military and eleven plaques recognizing all wars fought by our Country from the American Revolution up to present Iraqi War.

How do I get my father's name on the Vietnam Monument at Town Hall?

We are still accepting names to be added for the final plaque on the Vietnam monument.  To be eligible a Vietnam veteran must have lived in the Town of Huntington anytime in their lifetime. A minimum donation of $15.00 per veteran's name is requested to defray the expense of the monument. A copy of the veteran's discharge papers must accompany the application. Please contact our Veterans Hotline at (631) 361-351-3320 to request an application for this monument.

How can I receive a copy of my discharge papers?
